Den Dell is a monk and adventurer from a small village in northern Calimshan. After an incident involving a rival monk led him to flee his home village in disgrace, he upon Dorian Adricus, who then employed him as a guardian and aid in his adventures. Thus, he was swept up in the tumultuous events of The Nightmare Crisis.
